First, Why Online Personal Library? I have many resources related to my work and my interest. Books, journals, data, link, and many types of information. It is huge and abundant. In my hard drive, now it takes about 80GB. Of course, not all of them are important. I recon it is only about a quarter I really needed. One of the bad things storing my resources in hard drive is it’s difficulty to be searched. Everyone knows searching using Windows is suck. Google Desktop as the alternative for desktop searching takes a lot of resources. So, putting resources online is now my preference. Thanks for better internet connection I have at the moment.

Second, Why Wordpress? The answer is : Wordpress is simple, best SEO, and having akismet. I used to deal with Joomla wich was very fat, complicated, and spam prone CMS.

Some modifications in my wordpress are needed as follow

• Manage its SEO: some plugins are very important such as All in One SEO, Google XML Sitemap
• Avoid spam: I strongly rely on AKISMET in this matter
• Create a form for (my own) submission: TDO Miniform is the answer. This makes me easily put items in my library.
• Choose as light as possible theme. The focus of my online library is better indexing and search-able especially for myself. Theme selection helps me to make my library run faster.

I manage to put my files somewhere, not in my host. Filefactory and Ziddu are among the online storage I choose. Concerning about legal restriction, I also categorized my items into restricted and open category. Restricted ones have links which only myself can access.

Actually I have created this online library couple months ago. Because an accident, I deleted the database. Now, I revive the site. Keep blogging using wordpress.
