Download Citra Landsat Gratis (WIST)
Gratis adalah semacam kata magis yang diinginkan semua orang jika memungkinkan. Memiliki data GIS secara gratis juga merupakan salah satu kegiatan hunting yang sering dilakukan oleh praktisi GIS. Bagaimana dengan Citra Landsat gratis? Selain data SRTM, Citra Landsat gratis adalah terobosan yang besar dalam mengurangi pembatas distribusi data GIS. Hampir semua orang tahu bahwa Landsat sudah dapat didownload secara gratis. Tapi kiranya tidak semua orang tahu step-by-step caranya. Berikut ini adalah salah satu cara mendownload Citra Landsat secara gratis di website WIST.
1. Kunjungi https://wist.echo.nasa.gov/~wist/api/imswelcome/
2. Enter WIST
3. Login. Jika belum memiliki akun, silakan register.
Mungkin anda bisa juga sekarang register di http://edcsns17.cr.usgs.gov untuk mendownload citra Landsat.
4. Di blok kategori, pilih By Discipline. Di bawah kategori Land, pilih Landsat 7. Pada keywords, pilih Landsat 7 Enhanced Tematic Mapper Plus (ETM+).
5. Choose a Data Search Type. Saya memilih Primary Data Search.
6. Choose Search Area. Saya lebih menyarankan menggunakan metode Type in Lat/Lon Point. Cukup ketikan kordinat di sekitar Area of Interest. Kita tidak perlu mengisi koordinat eksak AOI kita.
7. Choose a Date/Time Range (not required). Blok ini berguna jika ingin mendownload Citra Landsat pada kisaran periode waktu tertentu. Pada contoh kasus ini, kita akan mendownload Citra Landsat bertahun 2008 – sekarang. Sehingga saya menuliskan 2008-01-01 pada Start Date yang berarti saya ingin mendownload data mulai tanggal 1 January 2008 sampai dengan sekarang.
Please notice that above selection is an example only. If your study needs landsat images for evey year (similar months) for 10 years period of time, the selection method will be different. You may left comment if you have a question about time selection methods.
8. Tentukan Choose Additional Options (not required) jika kita menghendaki.
9. Klik pada Start Search.
10. Silakan tunggu sampai proses pencarian selesai dilakukan. Pada kasus pencarian seperti contoh ini memerlukan waktu sekitar 1 menit untuk mendisplay hasil pencarian. Contoh hasil pencarian ditampilkan di bawah ini.
11. Terdapat dua tipe data (1) Access unavailable dan (2) Data available online.
Download Online Landsat (Online Access available)
>> Jika data memiliki status (Online Access – Data) berarti data tersebut dapat didownload langsung melalui HTTP protokol. Klik pada Data link (di bawah kolom Online Access). Silakan cermati nama Data Granule ID untuk navigasi data anda. Data Granule ID menunjukan PATH dan ROW dari citra landsat. Ketika Klik pada DATA link, Open in new tab mungkin sangat berguna untuk tetap menampilkan hasil pencarian.
>> Klik pada Download Link di atas.
>> Internet browser anda akan membuka http://edcsns17.cr.usgs.gov. LOGIN.
>> Link untuk download akan diberikan. Mulai lah mendownload.
>> Simpan file di PC/Notebook anda. Mendownload via HTTP perlu koneksi internet yang tidak terputus.
Download “Access Unavailable” Landsat (Online Access unavailable)
>>Metode ini menggunakan koneksi protokol FTP. Saya sangat menyarankan menggunakan cara ini daripada cara di atas.
>> Pilih lah data yang diperlukan. Kita dapat memilih semua data baik data yang dapat didownload via HTTP atau tidak.
>> Add to Cart
>> Step 1: Choose Ordering Options. Jika kita menghendaki, kita bisa melakukan pengubahan terhadap Order Options.
>> Go to Step 2: Order Form.
>> Kita bisa mengubah data personal jika menghendaki. Lanjutkan order dengan Klik apda Submit Order Now !.
>> Tunggu sapai pesan berikut muncul
>> Yang perlu dilakukan sekarang adalah menunggu di inbox email yang digunakan untuk registrasi di WIST. Akses FTP akan diberikan via email.
Untuk mengakses via FTP, saya sarankan download FTP client Filezilla.

Mas etrack,
Saya beberapa kali ada yang cuma beberapa jam ada yang sampai dua hari. Korespondensi bahwa FTP sudah siap diberitahu via email.

Your FTP product request has been processed for the data granule(s) listed
below. All the files associated with the product(s) are included in a unique
directory on the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) EOSDIS Core
System (ECS) server for anonymous FTP pull.
DATA PRODUCT ACCESS PROCEDURE VIA WEB BROWSERS:
1) Copy-and-paste (or type) the FTPURL (shown below) into the address field
of
your Web browser, making sure to include the prefix ‘ftp://’.
2) Select a file to download by clicking the appropriate filename.
3) When prompted to Save or Open the file, choose Save.
4) Specify the folder/directory where you want the data to reside and click
Save/OK to begin downloading.
DATA PRODUCT ACCESS PROCEDURE VIA COMMAND-LINE FTP SOFTWARE:
1) FTP to the host address (FTPHOST) listed below.
2) Enter “anonymous” as the User Name when prompted (if applicable).
3) Enter your complete email address for the Password when prompted (if
applicable).
4) Set the transfer mode to binary by typing “bin” (if applicable).
5) Change the directory path to the ftp directory (FTPDIR) listed below (for
example, “cd 123456789aBcDeF”). NOTE: Depending on your email font
settings, you may discover that capital I (eye) and lower case l (el) are
indistinguishable. If you experience difficulty changing directories
please consider this as a possible cause for error and retry the operation
using the alternate letter.
6) FTP your files to your local machine (for example, “get
MOD43B1.A2004065.h10v05.004.2004085134515.hdf” or “mget *” for all files).
